At Churchfield Primary School, we recognise the importance of extra-curricular activities to our pupils' development and the continuation of their learning. We pride ourselves on offering, what we believe, is one of the most robust and varied selections of extra-curricular opportunities available in the region, all facilitated and led by our teaching staff. All of our teaching staff host a different after-school club every single week, with some staff holding multiple clubs. We provide clubs to meet a wide range of interests and needs, and do our utmost to ensure no child misses out. We ensure that every child who applies for extra-curricular activities, no matter how over-subscribed, is guaranteed an opportunity. As well as our extensive range of after school clubs, we also run clubs and enrichment activities during the school day, such as the choir and school council.
All of our after-school clubs run from 3:15pm to 4:30pm. The new clubs will start week commencing 13/5/19. All of our clubs are run by our teaching staff, and at no cost no pupils. In some cases we may hold temporary clubs run by a coach or specialist, but again these will be at no cost to pupils unless it is a private club. If you have any questions, requests or ideas for after school clubs, please speak to our Enrichment Leader (Mrs Hughes) or our Sport Leader (Miss Wigston).
What we believe makes us unique, is that every teacher at Churchfield runs an after-school club, enabling us to build even stronger bonds with our pupils.
Autumn Term Clubs
Our incredible Churchfield Choir is well known for their amazing voices! The choir currently has a range of pupils from KS2, but is always looking for new members. If you would like to join the choir, please speak to Mrs Phillips. Our choir even sang at the Cudworth Christmas Lights switch on recently!
The choir meet every Wednesday (12:15pm - 12:45pm) in the main hall for practise.

Every playtime we run the Churchfield League for Y5/6. Each league runs for a full term, with a different sport each term (Football, handball, dodgeball) with our pupils responsible for the officiating, fixture list and organisation. UKS2 pupils are mixed into 10 separate teams and awarded 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 for a loss. At the end of each term the team who is top of the league win the trophy and a medal each! Check back soon to see this term's winner!
Thanks to our close partnership with Team Activ, we currently have 30 Year 6 pupils trained as Playground Leaders. A Playground Leader organises and runs games for other pupils at playtimes and lunchtimes, ensuring everyone abides the rules, works together and most importantly, has fun! Our leaders have really developed their coaching skills and we will be training more up soon. If you think you would be interested, speak to Mr Bean.
